At our recent Education Labor Forum, panelists addressed the pressing challenges facing education at all levels. The event informed a full house about the threats posed by legislation such as Senate Bill 83, both at the state and national levels. Panelists included Jason Perlman the Political Director for the Ohio AFL-CIO; Sara Kilpatrick, Ohio Conference Executive Director since February 2011; and Catherine Hernandez, who holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees (M.Ed 1999) from Bowling Green State University. Catherine is an active union member and leader, and a current Toledo teacher. The event was moderated by BGSU-FA President David Jackson.
For more insights, you can explore the detailed coverage of our event by the BG Independent News. As Kilpatrick aptly summarized, "when we’re not active, bad things happen to public education."
